'If you’ve not yet been aboard a modern cruise ship, you would be amazed by the size and complexity of a state-of-the-art theatre afloat, and the huge amount of equipment utilized on board. There are few land-based theatres with the high level of automation that is to be found in these venues. The reason for this is simple: any cabin not occupied by a fare-paying passenger represents a large loss of income,
so the need to keep the number of theatre crew to a minimum justifies a significant investment at the building stage.'
