The Canon Awards 2007 were held at the East Winter Gardens in Canary Wharf, a glass building with a high vaulted ceiling, ideal for performer flying. Stage Technologies worked with visual and physical artistes’ consultancy Acrobat Productions, well known for their creative performances at product launches, press events, award ceremonies, film and television.
Acrobat Productions wanted to add something special to the awards ceremony by including an automated effect. The result was an aerial show with silk performers that used a Stage Technologies winch to give greater height and flexibility of movement to the aerialists.
The BigTow 290 performer flying winch, controlled by a simple Saxis control unit and handheld controller offered a very simple, easy-to-use system that could be installed effortlessly for this one-day event.
