MaxisID is the latest generation, multi-axis position control system from Stage
Technologies. With position control software built into the variable
speed drive, MaxisID increases functionality while reducing the number
of system components and may be used with Servo motors
and Flux Vector AC motors.
The MaxisID system is a completely digital control system and fully
compatible with Nomad, Acrobat and Illusionist consoles and Visual
Creator, our fluid motion tool.
Not only does MaxisID offer superior positioning performance and accuracy,
it is equally suited to small single-user systems and large multi-user
systems.

diagnostics
In standard systems with external position controllers, the control
system is connected to the drives through an electrical interface.
Not only does this interface require more cabling and connections,
it also allows only a limited number of alarms or warnings to
be reported. Connected to the control system over a digital link,
MaxisID offers full access to drive diagnostics. All diagnostic information
from the drives is available on the network, displayed to the operator,
recorded in the event database, and can be viewed at remote sites
for servicing. MaxisID increases functionality, uses less space, and
costs less to install than conventional control systems.
The base MaxisID system uses a number of gateway processors each controlling
up to 24 drives. The gateway processors may be physically distributed
around an installation and the drives may be up to 100 metres from
the gateway.
If synchronisation between axes is required, the fibre synchronisation
network is installed connecting the drives together to a secondary
control processor. Extra processors may be added for EN61508 compliance
or for Visual Creator software applications.
An optional backup control network with position feedback and full diagnostics is available for equipment maintenance or in the unlikely event of a main system
failure.
