MaxisMX is the standalone control equipment which provides
position control to external variable speed drives
supplied by ourselves or others. MaxisMX allows us
to tailor a system to meet any specification and, by
adopting a modular approach, we have produced a solution
which is scalable from just a few motors to many
hundreds. The flexible nature of the interface allows
us to connect our automation system to existing drives
and motors offering sophisticated control solutions
in all circumstances.

Whether you need a new or replacement
control, MaxisMX combined with Nomad, Acrobat, or Illusionist
provides the answer. The MaxisMX modules contain all
the components for control of up to twenty-four axes.
The standard 19" rack accepts control cards in
multiples of four axes as required. Identical cards
are used for all types of hardware including servomotors,
AC motors, DC motors, hydraulics or fixed speed items.
The interface cards are simply set-up to match the
type of machinery as required. Configurable inputs
and outputs allow the Maxis to display the status of
external switches; limit switches, slack rope, and
load cell. This data is displayed on the Maxis front
panel as well as being sent over the network enabling
it to be reported on the operator's console. It is
worth noting that Maxis will accept incremental or
absolute encoders. The host processor controls up to
twenty-four axes in the rack. This processor monitors
the functions of the channel level cards and controls
synchronisation within the rack. A separate real-time
network is connected between the rack host processors
to enable synchronisation between racks.
All Maxis components connect with plugs and sockets
allowing quick installation and easy maintenance. Replacing
a printed circuit board is simple and most have a standard
set-up or will auto-configure when switched on. An
Ethernet network connects MaxisMX to Nomad, Acrobat
or Illusionist consoles. Ethernet has many advantages
over other networks; reliability,
scalability and
the availability of hardware world-wide. Although in
a new system it would be advantageous to use a MaxisID
solution, there are times when connecting to legacy
systems or hydraulics that MaxisMX provides the answer. Both MaxisID and MaxisMX may be used on a single project, providing seamless operation.
