The
Nomad is the most sophisticated console in our range, used in venues ranging from the smallest repertory theatre to the largest opera house . It provides
a feature-rich operator interface with a proven track record in some
of the most demanding venues in the world.
Each Nomad console has the base level Chameleon
software as standard giving the ability
to programme multiple shows, plot using
speed or time, and to use both metric and
imperial units.
It is possible to add software modules, to provide functionality for
Complex Groups, Visual Creator and offline editing on a stand alone
PC or laptop, thus extending the use into technical and production
offices.
Nomad excels in multi-user environments where up to sixteen Nomads
may be used simultaneously. Complex productions require multiple operators
to be positioned where they are able to see the equipment they are
controlling. This console is ideal in demanding applications such as multi-venue
buildings and in repertory
theatre where there are frequent show changeovers.
Full 3D graphical simulation of cues in virtual mode complements standard
features such as blind cue plotting. This allows shows to be plotted
and viewed in simulation before the scenery is built, saving valuable
technical time on stage.
The console has 5 playbacks, a dead man's handle, dimmable backlit
buttons, and a cue sheet light with its own dimmer. A portable
console requiring only a single cable connection, Nomad makes it easy
to get control to the right position.
Furthermore, its low weight and size together with an ergonomic and
robust case design make this console ideally suited for environments
where space is at a premium or where the operating position changes
on a regular basis.
Nomad connects to an Ethernet network in a client-server topology.
All the configuration and show data is stored on the server, where
redundant disks and tape backup safeguard important data. Event Viewer
software records all system events.
Requiring no master desk or programming computer and with a user-friendly
interface, the Nomad can be used by a wide range of users with varying
skill levels. Fast, straightforward access to everyday software operations
direct from the keyboard is simple and quick.
The software tool, Visual Creator, is also available as an add-on
to further extend the sophistication of the software allowing 1, 2 and 3D motion profiles
to be plotted and previewed with ease, making the plotting of complicated
arcs with speed variation a straightforward process for the user.
