New System for the Karlstad Theatre

The Stage Technologies projects team is pleased to be installing a 44-axis automation system and new stage equipment for the Karlstad Teater, home of the Värmland Opera. The project has been commissioned by construction firm NCC.

Founded in 1975, Värmland Opera produces high-quality operatic, musical and orchestral performances, as well as school productions alongside a thriving educational programme. The company also tours extensively both in Sweden and further afield.

The new system includes: 31 powered flying sets (comprising BT290 winches, bars, and pulleys); Nomad and Solo desk control; point hoists and an AU:tour plug-and-play control cabinet; positional control Chainmaster chainhoists; a grid trolley system for easier rigging; automated lighting bars; and replacement control for the orchestra lift and house curtain.
