Summer Rentals

It’s been a busy summer for the shows and rentals department at Stage Technologies and here are some of the highlights.

The Sound of Music has set out on a tour of the UK with a 22-axis system run via a portable, plug-and-play AU:tour control rack.  The set requires two main scenic elements, the house sliders and the mountain, to be automated.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has also embarked on a new tour of UK venues that were not included in the first international tour. Stage Technologies provided two AU:tour racks and, with Delstar Engineering, created a modification of the flying car mechanism adapted for smaller touring venues by means of a tower truck.

Mary Poppins has found her way to Finland with the help of a Saxis control unit, a BT250 Classic and two BT290 winches as well as a 30-amp AU:tour rack. The hit show is playing at the Helsinki City Theatre.

Developed in 2004 by China Heaven Creation, one of China's leading performing arts producers, Chun Yi: The Legend of Kung Fu played a brief run of 27 shows in a London première at the Coliseum before setting off for Broadway and a European tour. The show used a Stage Technologies BigTow theatre winch controlled by a portable Nomad desk for aerial performances by two silk acrobats.
