PLASA scams
PLASA has distributed a warning to members to be vigilant about scammers posing as official show suppliers. Details below.
"As if there isn't enough to do already, we know that some members have been targeted by scams that, unfortunately, take up time and, if you're really unlucky, may cost you money.
Some of these opportunists link their 'services' to PLASA or the PLASA Show - these are just a few to watch out for:
- E-mails promising access to visitor lists for the PLASA Show or any other PLASA event. We don't sell our visitor lists to third parties so they don't have them.
- Telephone calls from companies claiming to be an authorised supplier on behalf of PLASA. Click on the link below to see a full list of our carefully chosen affinity partners. If you get a call from someone not on this list, please send PLASA their contact details and we will get in touch with them.
Destroy any contract that you receive from Fairguide/Expo Guide/Worldtrade Register. They are not related to the PLASA Show (or any other of the big trade shows) in any way but by signing the forms you are potentially entering into a three-year contract for around 1000 Euros a year that will bring you absolutely no benefit. If you have signed already, however, don't worry - please get in touch and we'll send you guidance notes.
If you come across anything similar, please keep us informed so that we can help to ensure all our members are protected. Call +44 (0)1323 524120 or +1 212 244 1505 to speak to PLASA's membership team, or send an e-mail to the address below."
