Hit TV shows back with Stage Technologies

After a hit first season last year, averaging out at 6.1 million viewers, Hole in the Wall is back on the BBC due to popular demand. The Talkback Thames ‘human tetris’ game show, a spin off from a Japanese series, used Stage Technologies to automate the wall in Season 1, and they were so pleased they’ve asked us to come back for more!

An Acrobat control console, three BigTow theatre winches and a Maxis system automate the set again in the second season: one winch lifts a slider to reveal the famous moving wall and two additional winches, one on each side of the wall, sweep it along the stage. So thanks to Stage Technologies there’ll be more hilarious contortions to look forward to from the celebrity contestants as they try to force themselves through ever more ludicrously shaped holes.

Other recent TV shoots we’ve worked on have included a pilot show for the BBC and ITV’s smash show X Factor, which is using two winches and four point hoists controlled by a 6-way Maxis rack and an Acrobat desk for rehearsals and the two live shows each week over the entire series run. Stage Technologies equipment, programmers and operators have also been used in four previous X Factor series.
