A cast of 18 Cirque du Soleil acrobats and dancers travelled from the CityCenter resident show Viva ELVIS to perform an extract from the Las Vegas show at the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom for the UK's hit show Strictly Come Dancing. It was the first time the act had been performed outside the US.
The Stage Technologies rentals department provided a performer flying rig formed of two customized BigTow 290 winches, powered using two AU:tour 1 touring control racks and an Acrobat desk. The system was used to raise and lower aerialists performing strap acts.
Stage Technologies Las Vegas was a key supplier at Viva ELVIS, manufacturing and installing the stage automation system, including custom-built tracks and trolleys, hoists with SIL3 positioning technology, eight motorized LED panels with anti-sway technology, radio-controlled scenic stage trucks and 5 Nomad desks that control over 225 axes of movement in the show.
