With a special performance to celebrate Elvis Presley’s birthday on January 8th, 2010, Cirque du Soleil opened its newest production, Viva ELVIS. Stage Technologies supplied tracks and trolleys, hoists with SIL3 positioning technology, and motorized LED panels using anti-sway technology. In addition to controls for the system, Stage Technologies also automated two scenic elements - “Got-A-Lot” with a 4-friction-drive system and “Jailhouse” with a 6-friction-drive system to move 57,000lbs and 90,000lbs, respectively. Scenic, performer flying, lighting, and masking movements are carried out with BigTow winches and are controlled by Nomad desks.
