PLASA (Professional Lighting and Sound Association)
PLASA was established to provide commercial benefits to a business community, whilst improving working practices and advancing levels of safety and training within the entertainment industry as well as the presentation, installation and communications industries. There are many facets to the PLASA organization. At its heart is the Professional Lighting and Sound Association, a leading trade body for the industry, representing over 500 members worldwide.
ESTA (Entertainment Services & Technology Association)
ESTA has merged with PLASA.
USITT (United States Institute for Theatre Technology)
USITT is the association of design, production, and technology professionals in the performing arts and entertainment industry. Founded in 1960, USITT's mission is to actively promote the advancement of the knowledge and skills of its members. Its 3,600+ members live, work, and do business throughout the United States, Canada, and 40 other countries.
ABTT (Association of British Theatre Technicians)
ABTT was formed in 1961 with the main purpose of raising technical theatre standards by collecting and making available information concerning theatre planning, stage machinery, lighting equipment, sound equipment, acoustic equipment, scenery construction, stage management and all aspects of theatre presentation.
